How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Overview:           You will play a vital role in ensuring we deliver the right net cost for our customers, on time, accurately, and to the highest standard. We deliver small remedials from £250 up to projects more than £1mil. Across a range of sectors, predominantly commercial. This is a senior role within a small department. You'll work collaboratively with our team and supply chain partners to develop detailed cost plans aligned with customer requirements, project scope, and current legislation.


    Employer Description:   SPS Fire and Security Limited specialises in the installation and maintenance of specialised security equipment, including Fire Alarms, CCTV, Access Control, Intercoms, PAVA systems, VESDA systems, Intruder Alarms, Nurse Call Systems, Disabled Refuge Systems, Disabled Toilet Alarms, Barriers and Fire extinguishers.


    We are an ever-growing, all-inclusive team based in the south-west, with most of our sites situated in-and-around the Greater London area, including Kent and Essex also.     Who We’re Looking For (requirements):

     

    • 5 GCSEs (A-C Grade) or equivalent, including maths.
    • Strong experience in excel and outlook
    • Previous experience in a quotes-based role.
    • Well-developed communication and numeracy skills.
    • Experience handling supply chain logistics (preferred.)
    • Experience with field service management systems such as JobLogic, or Simpro (preferred, but not essential.)


    Core Responsibilities Include:


    • Providing accurate costs in delivering quotes to our clients.
    • Placing orders with our suppliers, and liaising with our delivery team to ensure parts arrive at the correct locations
    • Updating inventory records to ensure proper spending.
    • Problem solving via generic communication channels such as telephone comms, email chains, etc.


    Schedule:


    • 40 hours per-week full-time contract (8am-4pm, Mon-Fri.)


    Job Type:


    • Full-Time contract.
    • £28k/£38k P/A Salary, depending on experience.
