How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Business Partnering

    • Build strong, credible working relationships with managers and employees across the business.
    • Act as a first point of contact for day-to-day HR queries and provide practical, professional advice.
    • Support managers with people processes, helping them apply policy consistently and confidently.

    Recruitment and Onboarding

    • Assist with recruitment activities, including screening applications, arranging interviews and liaising with candidates.
    • Prepare and issue offer letters, employment contracts and onboarding documentation.
    • Coordinate new starter inductions and ensure all pre-employment checks are completed.
    • Manage the administration of employee onboarding and offboarding processes.

    Employee Records and HR Administration

    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records.
    • Update and manage the HR database.
    • Process changes to employee contracts, job titles, salaries and working arrangements.
    • Respond to day-to-day HR queries from employees and managers.

    Payroll and Absence Management

    • Record and monitor annual leave, sickness absence and other employee leave requests.
    • Ensure absence records are maintained accurately and in accordance with company policies.
    • Review all staff overtime claims monthly and process hourly-rate staff timesheets.
    • Manage agency timesheets on a weekly basis.

    Benefits Administration

    • Assist with the administration of employee benefits, including pensions, private healthcare and life assurance.
    • Support the enrolment, amendment and renewal processes for company benefit schemes.
    • Act as a point of contact for employee benefits queries.
    • Maintain accurate records relating to employee benefits and entitlements.
    • Support the administration of annual salary review processes and maintain associated documentation.

    Compliance and Reporting

    • Ensure HR procedures comply with current employment legislation and company policies.
    • Maintain right-to-work documentation and support compliance activities.
    • Produce regular HR reports and management information.
    • Support HR audits and record-keeping requirements.
    • Handle confidential employee information with discretion and professionalism.

    Skills and Experience

    • Previous experience in a People Partner, HR Advisor, HR Administrator or similar HR support role.
    • Good knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR best practice.
    • Experience creating and maintaining HR systems and employee records.
    • Strong relationship-building skills, with the confidence to engage managers and employees at all levels.
    • Strong administrative and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
    • High level of discretion and ability to handle confidential information.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively to deadlines.
    • Based in or able to commute to London/South East.

    What We Offer

    • Competitive salary
    • Company pension
    • Ongoing learning and development support, backed by Eight Group's People First team
    • The opportunity to grow your HR career within a supportive, fast-paced organisation

If you're an organised, proactive HR professional looking for your next step, we'd love to hear from you.
