How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Commissioning Home Manager – NMC Registered

    Location: Outskirts of Colchester, Essex
    Salary: £70,000 per annum

Lead. Inspire. Build. Make a Difference.

Are you an experienced NMC Registered Home Manager looking for an opportunity where you can genuinely shape a service, develop a high-performing team and make a lasting difference to the lives of the people you support?

We are looking for an ambitious, compassionate and commercially astute Commissioning Home Manager to lead a specialist residential nursing service on the outskirts of Colchester, Essex.

This is an exciting opportunity to take the lead in an established specialist service supporting adults living with acquired brain injuries (ABI), traumatic brain injuries (TBI) and complex neurological conditions.

With a strong focus on quality, clinical excellence and person-centred outcomes, this role offers the autonomy and influence to help shape the next chapter of the service while creating an environment where residents and colleagues can truly thrive.

    The Opportunity

As the CQC Registered Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the leadership, quality, compliance, financial performance and operational success of the service.

You will work closely with the multidisciplinary team (MDT) to ensure residents receive outstanding, safe and effective care, while championing independence, dignity and positive outcomes.

This is a visible leadership role for someone who is confident making decisions, inspiring others and driving meaningful change. You will have the opportunity to build on existing strengths, identify new opportunities and create a culture of excellence across the service.

    What You'll Be Responsible For

Provide visible, inspirational and compassionate leadership, creating a culture built around dignity, respect, inclusion and excellence.
Take full accountability for the quality, governance, compliance and operational performance of the service.
Ensure the home operates in accordance with CQC regulations, legislation, safeguarding requirements, health and safety standards and organisational policies.
Work collaboratively with the MDT to deliver outstanding, person-centred care that maximises independence and promotes positive outcomes.
Maintain high standards of care planning, clinical documentation, nursing records and clinical governance.
Recruit, develop, motivate and retain a talented and committed workforce through coaching, mentoring, supervision and effective succession planning.
Lead a culture of continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to enhance quality, efficiency and resident experience.
Develop strong and trusted relationships with residents, families, commissioners, healthcare professionals and other external stakeholders.
Monitor and manage occupancy, staffing, budgets and financial performance, ensuring the service is both clinically excellent and commercially sustainable.
Lead confidently through change, ensuring the service continues to evolve and meet the changing needs of the people it supports.

    About You

We are looking for a confident and experienced leader who combines clinical credibility with strong operational and people-management skills.

    You will ideally have:

Current NMC registration as an RGN, RMN or RNLD.
Previous experience as a Registered Manager or Home Manager within a residential nursing, neurological or specialist care environment.
A proven track record of successfully managing a CQC-regulated service and delivering strong inspection outcomes.
Excellent knowledge of CQC requirements, clinical governance, safeguarding and quality assurance.
Strong commercial awareness, including experience of budgets, occupancy, workforce planning and operational performance.
Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage confidently with residents, families, colleagues, commissioners and professionals.
A proven ability to lead, inspire and develop high-performing teams.
A proactive, resilient and solutions-focused approach, with the confidence to make decisions and lead through change.
A genuine passion for delivering exceptional, person-centred care to people living with complex neurological needs and acquired brain injuries.

    Why This Role?

This is more than an opportunity to manage a care home.

It's an opportunity to shape a specialist service, influence its future and leave a lasting positive impact.

You will have the autonomy to lead from the front, develop a committed multidisciplinary team and drive improvements across quality, clinical care, culture and commercial performance.

You'll be joining a service where your leadership will directly influence the experience and outcomes of residents, while also having the opportunity to develop professionally as a senior leader.

    The Reward

£70,000 per annum, alongside the opportunity to take on a high-profile leadership position within a specialist nursing and neurological care environment.

If you're an ambitious NMC Registered Manager who is ready for a new challenge — and you're excited by the opportunity to lead, develop and shape a service — we'd love to hear from you.
