How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Fire & Security Service Engineer – £30,000–£40,000 – North East- OTE £50,000- £60,000

    * £30,000 – £40,000 basic salary, depending on experience

    * £50,000 – £60,000 realistic earning potential including overtime & travel time

    * Door-to-door travel paid

    * Company vehicle + fuel card

    * 20 days' annual leave + bank holidays, increasing after 3 years

    Fire & Security Service Engineer – Overview

    An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Fire & Security Service Engineer to join an established and growing engineering team covering the North East.

    This is a regional Fire & Security Service Engineer position covering areas including Newcastle, Durham, Stockton-on-Tees and surrounding areas.

    You will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, repairing and fault-finding across a range of fire and security systems, working across commercial, industrial and residential premises.

    Fire & Security Service Engineer Role & Responsibilities:

    * Service and maintain fire alarms, intruder alarms, CCTV and access control systems.

    * Attend reactive maintenance and fault-finding visits, diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs.

    * Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and routine servicing.

    * Work across commercial, industrial and residential sites.

    * Travel throughout the North East, including Newcastle, Durham, Stockton-on-Tees and surrounding areas.

    * Complete service reports and relevant job documentation.

    * Provide a professional service to customers and represent the company positively on site.

    * Work independently while maintaining high standards of workmanship, health & safety and compliance.

    Fire & Security Service Engineer – Experience & Skills Required

    * The successful Fire & Security Service Engineer will ideally have experience working across a range of fire and security systems.

    * Experience with some of the following manufacturers and systems would be advantageous:Galaxy, Texecom, Scantronic, Menvier, Advanced, Kentec, Ziton, C-TEC, Hikvision, Paxton and other similar fire and security systems

    * You should be comfortable working independently, fault-finding on site and dealing professionally with customers.

    * A full UK driving licence or equivalent is required for this position.
