How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Cityworx are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of an established and highly regarded organisation within the health and social care sector.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Service Manager who is passionate about delivering outstanding care, developing people and maintaining consistently high standards.

Our client has built its reputation over many years by putting people at the heart of everything they do. They are committed not only to the people they support, but also to the people who work for them.

One of the organisation's greatest strengths is its long-standing and loyal workforce, with many employees choosing to build their careers with the organisation over a number of years. This reflects a culture where staff are valued, supported and given genuine opportunities to develop and progress.

This is an opportunity to join an organisation where your contribution will be recognised and where you can build a long-term career in care management.

    The Role

As Service Manager, you will play a key leadership role in ensuring that people receive high-quality, person-centred care and support.

You will promote a caring and respectful environment, ensuring that professional standards are consistently maintained and that each individual receives care appropriate to their needs.

Working closely with the senior management team, you will have responsibility for supporting the effective day-to-day operation of the service, maintaining compliance and contributing to the continuous improvement of quality.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    * Leading and supporting a team to deliver consistently high standards of care and support.

    * Ensuring that people receive personalised care based on their individual needs, preferences and outcomes.

    * Supporting assessments and ensuring appropriate personalised support plans are developed.

    * Working collaboratively with families, representatives and relevant professional agencies.

    * Monitoring the quality of care and ensuring that appropriate quality assurance processes are completed, recorded and acted upon.

    * Ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures and relevant local and national standards.

    * Supporting the planning and management of staffing rotas to ensure appropriate staffing levels are maintained.

    * Ensuring staff are deployed effectively to meet the needs of the people being supported.

    * Providing leadership, guidance and support to care staff.

    * Supporting staff development and maintaining a positive team culture.

    * Assisting with the resolution of operational issues and responding appropriately to emergencies.

    * Participating in an on-call rota.

    * Providing management support when emergency operational cover is required.

    * Working closely with senior management to identify opportunities for service improvement.

    * Promoting a culture of dignity, respect, safeguarding and person-centred practice.

    What We're Looking For

We are looking for an experienced care professional who is ready to take the next step in their management career or an established manager looking for an organisation where they can make a genuine long-term contribution.

    You will have:

    * Substantial experience of working within health and social care, supporting vulnerable adults.

    * Previous supervisory or management experience within a care environment.

    * NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent.

    * Ideally, you will be working towards Level 5 in Health & Social Care or be willing to undertake further professional development.

    * Strong knowledge and understanding of high-quality care provision.

    * Experience of supporting personalised care planning and assessments.

    * An understanding of safeguarding, compliance and quality assurance.

    * Strong organisational and time-management skills.

    * Good IT skills and confidence using care management and business systems.

    * Good commercial awareness and an understanding of the importance of operating an effective and sustainable service.

    * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    * The ability to lead, motivate and develop a team.

    * A professional, proactive and solutions-focused approach.

    Why Join?

This organisation genuinely recognises that great care starts with great people.

They have developed a strong reputation for creating an environment where employees feel supported, valued and able to develop their careers.

    You'll benefit from:

    Long-term career opportunities
Join an organisation with genuine opportunities to progress and develop within the care sector.

    A supportive culture
You will receive structured support and guidance, particularly during your induction and throughout your development.

    Structured induction
A comprehensive induction programme will ensure you understand the organisation, your responsibilities and the standards expected of you.

    Career progression
Your development will be actively supported, with opportunities to progress within the organisation.

    Annual Leave
Minimum 28 days' annual leave for full-time contracts.

    Pension
Access to a workplace pension scheme with employer contributions.

    Mileage Allowance
Mileage allowance available for eligible business travel by car or bicycle.

    Recommend a Friend
A generous employee referral scheme, with payments of a minimum of £100 per successful recommendation, with unlimited referral opportunities subject to the applicable conditions.

    The Person

We are looking for someone who combines strong management capability with genuine compassion.

You will be someone who takes pride in the quality of care being delivered, understands the importance of developing and supporting staff, and is confident making decisions when required.

Most importantly, you will share the organisation's belief that people deserve to be treated with dignity, respect and individuality.

If you are an experienced care professional looking for a management position with an organisation that values its people and offers the opportunity to build a long-term career, we would be very interested in hearing from you.

Cityworx is managing this recruitment process on behalf of the organisation.

All applications will be treated in the strictest confidence.

Apply now to take the next step in your care management career.

This version deliberately makes the staff retention and employer culture a selling point, rather than simply listing benefits. It should read as an opportunity to join a stable organisation where people stay and progress, which is particularly attractive to experienced Service Managers who are tired of high-turnover environments
