The Procurement Team manages a spend of around £1.5Bn per annum with external suppliers, procuring everything from software to social services, cleaning products to highway maintenance services. This role involves working on a range of procurement projects, across different category areas, providing expertise on tendering activity to clients across different services and delivering high-performance contracts by either tendering or the use of frameworks.
In Procurement we are supporting a lot of the contract transitions for local government restructure (LGR) as well as the business as usual work across Surrey County Council.
This role contributes to the organisation's strategic goals by delivering tangible benefits which can include social value and other benefits which brings value both to the council and to residents.

Local Government Reorganisation
Surrey County Council is undergoing Local Government Reorganisation and will move to new authorities in April 2027. This role is currently employed by Surrey County Council and will remain so until then. If you are employed by Surrey County Council on 1 April 2027, your employment will transfer under TUPE arrangements to one of the new councils, with your current terms and conditions protected. The provisional allocation for this post is West Surrey Council, subject to final confirmation through the wider transition process later this year. Please see more information here:
