The Opportunity We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Transport Coordinator / Planner to join a busy 24/7 transport operation based near Heathrow Airport.
Working with high-profile airline customers, you will coordinate time-critical freight movements while ensuring an exceptional level of service. This is a fast-paced position that requires strong transport-planning experience, excellent communication skills and the ability to make confident decisions under pressure.
Applicants must have previous freight transport experience, including a minimum of two years within a busy transport operation.
Your Responsibilities
Plan and coordinate daily and nightly transport operations.
Allocate vehicles, drivers and workloads efficiently.
Monitor collections and deliveries to ensure deadlines are consistently achieved.
Coordinate airport transfers and time-critical freight movements.
Respond quickly to operational changes, delays and customer requirements.
Maintain clear communication with drivers, customers and internal teams.
Build strong relationships with customers and deliver consistently high levels of service.
Keep transport systems and operational records accurate and up to date.
Work collaboratively with the wider 24/7 transport team.
Ensure all work is completed safely, compliantly and cost-effectively. What We’re Looking For
A minimum of two years’ experience within a busy transport or freight operation.
Previous transport planning or coordination experience.
Knowledge of road freight and airfreight logistics.
Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
The ability to remain calm and make decisions under pressure.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Good IT skills and experience working within a busy office environment.
A flexible, adaptable and proactive approach.
The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
A full UK driving licence. Experience of ADR, hazardous goods or Level D Cargo Operative training would be advantageous, although fully paid training can be provided. A forklift licence would also be beneficial, with training available if required.
Due to the airport-based nature of the role, successful applicants must be able to provide a complete five-year employment history and successfully complete the required referencing, criminal-record and airport-security vetting.
