How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Maintenance Engineer
    Kettering, Corby, Wellingborough, Daventry, Peterborough etc

    4 on 4 off, 3 blocks of days followed by 1 block of nights
    Are you a 'hands-on Maintenance Engineer who enjoys fault finding, fixing problems and keeping production moving?

    I am working with a successful manufacturing business looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join their engineering team and play a key role in maintaining and improving their production equipment.

    What you'll be doing:
    * Carry out PPM and routine maintenance to prevent breakdowns and maximise equipment reliability.
    * Respond quickly to breakdowns, diagnose faults and get machinery back up and running.
    * Complete machine adjustments, set-ups and changeovers to support production.
    * Fault-find across mechanical and electrical equipment.
    * Monitor and calibrate machinery to maintain quality, accuracy and safety.
    * Work closely with Production to identify **improvements and reduce downtime**.
    * Maintain accurate maintenance records, PPM schedules and spare parts information.
    * Follow all Health & Safety procedures and company standards.
    * Support the introduction of new technology and engineering improvements.

    What we're looking for:
    * Qualifications to NVQ level 3 (or equivalent, ONC mechanical/electrical engineering, BTEC level 3 in mechanical & electrical/electronic engineering)
    * Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems
    * Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing industrial machinery, including conveyors, motors, pumps, and packaging equipment
    * Proactive approach to maintenance and a commitment to ensuring the highest levels of equipment reliability
    * A good understanding of HACCP principles and ideally IEE qualification up to 17th edition wiring regulations would be advantageous
