How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Technical Sales Representative
    Location: Spalding, Lincolnshire
Salary: Competitive salary depending on experience
    Vacancy Type:
Premier Pits is part of MBE Fabrications Ltd and has been designing, manufacturing and installing prefabricated steel maintenance pits for over 35 years.
We support customers across the commercial vehicle, PSV, rail, fleet, workshop and infrastructure sectors, both in the UK and internationally. Alongside our core inspection pit products, we also manufacture bespoke steel substructures for specialist below-ground applications, including industrial machine bases, gym landing pits, rail-related structures and other engineered steel solutions.
Following recent investment and new ownership, we are now looking to strengthen our sales team as we continue to grow in the UK and explore further international opportunities.
    The Role
We are looking for an experienced Technical Sales Representative to join our team.
This is a customer-facing technical sales role, suited to someone who can understand workshop layouts, customer requirements, site constraints and engineered product solutions. The successful candidate will manage sales enquiries, conduct site surveys, prepare quotations and support customers through the full sales process from initial enquiry to order handover.
You will work closely with the Sales Director, design, manufacturing, installation and finance teams to ensure opportunities are quoted accurately, commercially and professionally.
    Key Responsibilities
Manage new and existing sales enquiries.
Speak with customers to understand their requirements, timescales and budget.
Conduct site visits and surveys to assess the most suitable pit or substructure solution.
Review workshop layouts, site access, ground conditions and customer-specific requirements.
    Prepare and follow up quotations.
Work with design, production and installation teams to ensure quotations are practical and deliverable.
Maintain accurate CRM / enquiry and pipeline information.
Support key account development and repeat customer relationships.
Identify opportunities for additional products, accessories and related services.
Attend trade shows, customer meetings and industry events where required.
Help develop opportunities in UK and export markets.
Ensure a professional handover of won projects into production and installation.
Provide regular updates on sales activity, pipeline, forecast orders and market feedback.
    Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will have experience in technical sales, preferably within commercial vehicle workshops, garage equipment, steel fabrication, construction products, industrial equipment, rail, fleet, or a related technical environment.
You do not need to know every detail of our products from day one, but you must be comfortable learning technical information and translating customer requirements into practical commercial solutions.
    Skills and Experience
    Essential:
    * Proven experience in a technical sales or field sales role.
    * Ability to understand drawings, layouts or technical product requirements.

    * Good communication and relationship-building skills.
    * Organised, self-motivated and able to manage a live pipeline.
    * Comfortable working with internal manufacturing, design and installation teams.
    * Full UK driving licence.
    Desirable:
    * Experience selling into commercial vehicle workshops, PSV operators, rail depots, fleet workshops or garage equipment sectors.
