How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    The Role

We are currently looking for a motivated and customer-focused Service Advisor to join an established and busy Service Department.

Reporting to the Service Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operation of the department. You will provide administrative and customer service support while acting as the vital link between customers, technicians, parts and warranty teams.

The role will involve managing the service process from initial customer contact through to completion, ensuring clear communication, accurate records and a high level of customer service throughout.

You will be working with a range of agricultural, construction and groundcare machinery, making this an excellent opportunity for someone with experience within a technical, engineering, automotive or machinery-based environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Act as the main point of contact for customers throughout the service and repair process.

    * Manage existing customer accounts while developing strong relationships with new and existing customers.

    * Receive and process service and repair enquiries, ensuring customers are kept fully informed of progress.

    * Liaise closely with technicians to monitor the progress of jobs and ensure work is completed efficiently.

    * Prepare and maintain accurate job cards, service records and associated documentation.

    * Work closely with the Parts Department to ensure parts are available and repairs can be completed on time.

    * Liaise with the Warranty Department to ensure warranty work is processed correctly and in line with relevant requirements.

    * Provide accurate updates to customers regarding repair progress, costs and expected completion times.

    * Ensure a consistently high standard of customer service is delivered.

    * Support the Service Manager with the efficient day-to-day running of the Service Department.

    * Assist with the smooth coordination of workshop activities and customer requirements

    Skills & Experience

    * Previous experience working within a Service Department, Workshop or similar customer-facing technical environment.

    * A good understanding of service operations and the repair process.

    * Experience within the agricultural, construction, groundcare, horticultural, plant hire or automotive sectors would be advantageous.

    * Excellent customer service and communication skills.

    * Strong organisational and administrative abilities.

    * The ability to prioritise workloads and manage multiple tasks within a busy environment.

    * Good attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.

    * The confidence to communicate effectively with customers, technicians and internal departments.

    * A full UK driving licence, as occasional travel to customer sites may be required.
