How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Trainee Electrical Engineer
    Westminster 
    £30,000 - £35,000

    Excellent opportunity for a Trainee Engineer to join our client on a high end commercial site in Westminster! This is a great chance if you're looking to break through into the facilities maintenance industry that offers solid career experience, long term prospects and the chance to work alongside well experienced engineers.

    As a Trainee Electrical Engineer, you will shadow other mechanical and electrical engineers whilst gaining hands on experience, you'll work on electrical plant systems, carrying out planned preventative (PPM) and reactive maintenance and learn how to fault find / troubleshoot systems.

    Trainee Electrical Engineer Duties:

    Perform maintenance, servicing, and testing of various electrical and mechanical systems, including Checking tap temperature, water flushing, AHUs, air conditioning systems, emergency lighting, fire alarm systems, and generators.
    Ensure compliance with safety standards and maintain a safe working environment by adhering to company policies and procedures.
    Conduct planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and daily inspections of plant areas, ensuring cleanliness, functionality, and organisation at all times.
    Implement and follow PPM schedules in alignment with departmental objectives.
    Execute water management control measures as outlined in the Water Risk Assessment, such as flushing and temperature monitoring, while maintaining precise documentation.
    Address and resolve tasks logged in the company's system, prioritising workload and responding swiftly to emergency and reactive maintenance requests.
    Deal with building managers/clients on a daily basis.
    Support and assist in various projects as needed
    Trainee Electrical Engineer Requirements:

    Level 2 and 3 in Electrical installations / Engineering minimum (City & Guilds / EAL / NVQ or equivalent) 
    Motivated and client facing 
    Career driven 
    Ability to work well in a team and individually 
    Salary and Package:

    £30,000 - £35,000 per annum 
    Private health and dental care
    Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm 
    Overtime available 
    On-going training

    25 days annual leave + Bank holidays
