How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Programme Manager / Hybrid Location: Manchester or London

Lead the delivery of complex, business-critical programmes that support the evolution of Great Britain’s smart metering ecosystem. This is an exciting opportunity to join our Change & Delivery Office, where you will manage high-profile programmes, influence senior stakeholders, and help shape the future of the UK’s smart energy network. Working within a collaborative programme environment, you will be responsible for driving successful outcomes while managing risks, dependencies, governance and delivery across a complex stakeholder landscape. [

    About us

We’re powering Britain’s smarter, greener future. Today. Tomorrow. Together.

Today, we’re deeply invested in building a resilient, sustainable smart energy network that drives transformation. Our success is driven by curiosity, ambition, and tenacity.

Tomorrow, we see vast opportunities for growth and development, contributing to decarbonisation and the Net Zero mission. We’ll continually develop to fulfil our obligations to consumers and achieve even more with our customers, partners, and each other. Join us and development opportunities range from talent programmes, academies and always-on learning to exposure to senior stakeholders and industry experts, contributing to complex projects and receiving constant support to drive your own development.

Together, we embrace change, unite in our shared passions and support each other. Working as one team and across our industry, we rise to the challenge to shape the future.

How you will contribute to transforming the smart energy network and shaping the future

    * Lead the mobilisation, planning and successful delivery of complex programmes aligned to strategic business objectives.

    * Manage programme governance, finances, risks, issues, dependencies and delivery reporting across multiple workstreams.

    * Build and maintain effective relationships with senior stakeholders, suppliers, regulatory bodies and industry participants.

    * Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and provide leadership across programme delivery activities within a matrix-managed environment.

    * Ensure programmes remain focused on delivering measurable benefits while driving continuous improvement and delivery excellence.

    What you need to bring:

    * Demonstrable experience operating at Programme Manager level, delivering complex programmes rather than solely project-level initiatives.

    * Strong programme governance, planning, dependency management, risk management and benefits realisation experience.

    * Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and engage senior leaders, suppliers and cross-functional teams.

    * Proven experience working within complex delivery environments, ideally involving technology change, infrastructure programmes, regulated sectors or critical national infrastructure.

    * Relevant programme management credentials such as MSP, PRINCE2, Agile or equivalent practical experience, alongside strong strategic thinking and leadership capability
