How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Fire Safety Manager
    Location: Teddington, South West London (with flexibility)
    Salary: £69,115 per annum

    MMP are looking for an experienced Fire Safety professional to lead and strengthen our fire safety strategy, compliance programmes, and assurance activities across a diverse residential portfolio.

    In this pivotal role, you will act as the organisation's fire safety expert, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements while driving continuous improvement in fire safety standards, governance, and resident safety.

    About the Role

    Act as the organisation's lead for fire safety, ensuring risks are effectively managed and compliance obligations are met.
    Provide expert technical advice and leadership on all fire safety matters across the business.
    Lead the development and ongoing enhancement of fire safety policies, strategies, procedures, and compliance frameworks.
    Oversee fire safety inspection and assurance programmes, including Fire Risk Assessments (FRAs), FRAEWs, fire doors, compartmentation surveys, active fire protection systems, and specialist investigations.
    Manage fire safety incidents, investigations, enforcement actions, regulatory submissions, and engagement with external authorities.
    Ensure fire safety inspections, records, certifications, and remedial works are completed to the required standard through robust assurance and contractor management.
    Provide technical oversight on repairs, planned investment works, asset management programmes, and development projects.
    Develop fire safety standards, specifications, lifecycle plans, and capital investment programmes.
    Monitor fire safety performance, compliance risks, audits, and improvement plans, ensuring recommendations are implemented effectively.
    Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team focused on safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.
    About You

    Significant experience managing fire safety compliance within social housing, residential property, or another highly regulated environment.
    A Level 4 Certificate in Fire Safety (or an equivalent recognised qualification).
    Strong knowledge of fire safety legislation, regulatory requirements, and industry best practice.
    Experience managing Fire Risk Assessment programmes, remedial actions, and contractor performance.
    Expertise in active and passive fire protection systems and associated compliance programmes.
    Experience investigating fire incidents, assessing risks, and implementing corrective actions.
    The ability to provide technical advice across repairs, planned works, asset management, and development projects.
    Experience leading audits, inspections, assurance reviews, and regulatory engagement activities.
    Excellent reporting skills, with the ability to present clear recommendations that support governance and decision-making.
    Desirable Experience

    A Level 5 or Level 6 qualification in Fire Safety, Fire Engineering, Building Safety, or a related discipline.
    Membership of a professional body such as IFE, IFSM, CIOB, or IOSH.
    Experience working with Fire and Rescue Services on audits, enforcement activity, or investigations.
    Experience managing FRAEW, fire door, compartmentation, and fire remediation programmes within residential buildings.
