How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Contract: 18-month fixed-term
    Hours: Full-time
    Location: Bournemouth

    We are currently recruiting for an experienced Project Surveyor to join an established organisation and support a range of property, asset management and development projects across its housing portfolio.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified or part-qualified property professional with experience in building surveying, asset management, property projects or construction, looking for a varied role with significant responsibility.

    The Role

    Working across a diverse property portfolio, you will lead and support projects designed to maximise the long-term value, use and condition of housing assets.

    Key responsibilities will include:

    * Leading property option appraisals to identify the best long-term use of assets

    * Managing projects to bring empty, unused or underutilised spaces back into use as quality homes

    * Preparing business cases, technical reports and recommendations for senior leadership

    * Managing construction and refurbishment projects from inception through to completion

    * Supporting the procurement and appointment of contractors and consultants

    * Monitoring project progress, quality, costs and timescales

    * Supporting stock condition surveys and asset data management

    * Contributing to investment planning and property lifecycle programmes

    * Providing professional surveying and technical advice across the organisation

    About You

    We are looking for a property professional with a strong understanding of buildings, construction and asset management.

    You will ideally have:

    * Experience within property surveying, building surveying, asset management or a related field

    * Knowledge of stock condition surveys and property lifecycle planning

    * Experience managing property or construction projects

    * Strong report-writing and business case preparation skills

    * The ability to analyse information and make commercially and technically sound recommendations

    * Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

    * Strong organisational and project management abilities

    * A degree or equivalent qualification in property, surveying, construction or a related discipline

    * Professional membership of RICS, CIOB or a similar professional body, or be working towards professional qualification

    Experience within social housing, affordable housing or a similar property environment would be highly advantageous.

    What's on Offer?

    * £48,639.83 – £50,920.45 per annum

    * 18-month fixed-term contract

    * Full-time position

    * Based in Bournemouth but travel may be required across the SW

    * Opportunity to work on a varied portfolio of property and asset projects

    * Significant involvement in strategic asset and investment decisions

    * Professional development and opportunities to broaden your project and surveying experience

    The Opportunity

    This is a great opportunity for a Project Surveyor who wants to combine technical surveying expertise with project management and strategic asset planning.

    You'll have the opportunity to influence how properties and assets are utilised, invested in and developed, while delivering projects that ultimately improve the quality and availability of homes.

    If you're an experienced Surveyor with a background in property, construction or asset management and you're looking for your next challenge, we'd love to hear from you
