How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Type: Full-Time, Long-Term
    Potential: Temp-to-Perm
    Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Aspire People are currently working in partnership with a well-established secondary school within a trust in Central Manchester, who are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate looking to develop their career within education. For the right candidate, there is also the potential for the position to become permanent following a successful temporary period.

    The Role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff to support students across the school, helping them to access learning and reach their full potential.
    Your responsibilities will include:
    * Providing academic and pastoral support to secondary-aged students.
    * Supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
    * Working with students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
    * Assisting students in accessing the curriculum and completing learning activities.
    * Supporting students to develop their confidence, independence and engagement.
    * Working closely with teachers and the wider support team to ensure students receive appropriate support.
    * Helping to create a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment.

    The Ideal Candidate
The school is particularly interested in hearing from candidates who are:
    * Graduates looking to pursue a career in education, teaching, psychology, SEN or a related field.
    * Experienced in working with children or young people.
    * Able to demonstrate previous tutoring experience.
    * Experienced in an educational setting, such as a school, college or tuition centre.
    * Able to demonstrate relevant placement experience working with children.
    * Passionate about supporting young people and helping them succeed.
    * Patient, approachable, resilient and confident.
    * Able to build positive relationships with students.
    * A strong communicator who can work effectively as part of a team.

An enhanced DBS will be required for this role, on the update service, or willing to pay for a new DBS.

Previous experience supporting students with SEN is desirable but not essential, as the school is willing to consider candidates with transferable experience and the right attitude.

    Why Work with Aspire People?
    * Full-time, long-term opportunity within a supportive secondary school.
    * Potential temp-to-perm position for the right candidate.
    * Opportunity to gain valuable experience within education.
    * Dedicated consultant support throughout your placement.
    * Opportunities to develop your experience working with SEN and secondary-aged students.
    * References covering your last two years of employment/education, where applicable.

If you are a graduate, aspiring teacher, experienced tutor or have previous experience working with children and are looking for a rewarding opportunity in a secondary school, we would love to hear from you.
