How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    The Opportunity

Are you a skilled Maintenance Engineer looking for a role where you can do more than simply respond to breakdowns?

We are working with a well-established, award-winning food manufacturing business with a proud heritage and a strong reputation for quality. Due to continued investment and growth, they are looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join their engineering team at their modern manufacturing facility.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Multi-Skilled Engineer, Electrical Engineer or Electrician who wants to work in a well-invested environment where proactive maintenance, continuous improvement and engineering projects are genuinely encouraged.

The site is easily commutable from Nottingham, Melton Mowbray, Grantham and surrounding areas.

    The Role

As a Maintenance Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability and performance of highly specialised production and packaging equipment.

While breakdown response and planned preventative maintenance will form an important part of the role, you will also have significant opportunities to get involved in continuous improvement, root cause analysis, equipment upgrades and capital investment projects.

The business operates a proactive engineering culture, meaning engineers are given the time and support to identify issues, implement improvements and improve overall equipment reliability.

    Key Responsibilities

Respond quickly and effectively to critical breakdowns.

Carry out planned preventative maintenance and ensure PPMs remain effective.

Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults across production equipment.

Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and reliability improvements.

Support improvement projects from identification through to implementation.

Use Root Cause Analysis (RCA) techniques to prevent recurring breakdowns.

Support the installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment.

Work alongside production and engineering stakeholders to minimise downtime.

Share knowledge and learning across the engineering team.

Maintain accurate engineering records and complete relevant documentation.

Update the company's maintenance management system with detailed information regarding completed work.

Work safely and ensure all Health & Safety, hygiene, quality and company procedures are followed.

Take ownership of your own development and contribute positively to the wider engineering team.

    What We're Looking For

We are ideally looking for an apprentice-trained Multi-Skilled Engineer, Electrical Engineer or Electrician with experience within a manufacturing environment.

    You'll need:

Relevant engineering qualifications or strong equivalent experience.

Experience working within a manufacturing or production environment.

Strong electrical and/or mechanical maintenance skills.

    Good Health & Safety awareness.

The ability to fault-find effectively and work proactively.

A self-motivated approach with the ability to work independently.

Flexibility to respond to the changing requirements of the business.

The ability to work under pressure while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

A willingness to contribute ideas and drive continuous improvement.

    Why Join?

This is more than a traditional maintenance role. You'll be joining a well-invested manufacturing site with modern machinery and a clear strategy for continued investment and growth.

You'll have the opportunity to work on new equipment, contribute to capital projects and play an active role in improving the reliability and performance of the site.

    Benefits Include:

Salary up to £44,027 per annum DOE

    Performance bonus

    Company profit-related bonus

    Pension scheme

    Life assurance
