How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    M&E Contracts / Procurement Manager

    Location: North West
    Salary: £60,000 – £80,000 DOE + Benefits
    Job Type: Permanent
    Level: Mid-Level / Senior

LGP Consultancy are working on behalf of a well-established North West-based commercial fit-out and refurbishment contractor to recruit an M&E Contracts & Procurement Manager.

    About the Role

This is a brand-new position created to strengthen the company’s M&E capability across tendering, procurement and commercial buying as it continues to secure and deliver projects as a main contractor.

This is a genuine opportunity for an ambitious M&E professional to build and shape a new function from the ground up, rather than simply step into an established procurement structure.

The successful candidate will initially take ownership of M&E procurement and commercial buying, with the long-term opportunity to build and lead a dedicated team and potentially develop this function into a standalone arm of the wider business.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Lead and improve the M&E input into tender submissions, ensuring competitive and commercially sound pricing.

    * Source, assess and develop relationships with mechanical and electrical subcontractors.

    * Negotiate subcontractor rates, packages and commercial agreements.

    * Manage the procurement and appointment of M&E subcontractors across projects.

    * Strengthen existing procurement and commercial buying processes for M&E packages.

    * Identify opportunities to improve margins, efficiencies and value retention within the business.

    * Build a strong supply chain of reliable mechanical and electrical subcontractors.

    * Work closely with the wider commercial and project teams to ensure M&E packages are commercially robust.

    * Develop processes and systems to support the growth of the M&E function.

    * Take ownership of building a new M&E procurement function, with the potential to recruit and lead a team as the business grows.

    * Identify new commercial opportunities and ways in which the business can expand its M&E offering.

    About You

The ideal candidate will be mechanically biased, with a strong understanding of electrical services and M&E subcontracting.

You may currently be working within M&E procurement, commercial management, contracts management, estimating, or subcontractor management and will ideally have experience working within commercial fit-out, refurbishment, or construction.

We’re particularly interested in someone who has:

    * Strong mechanical services knowledge with a good understanding of electrical M&E.

    * Experience working with or managing M&E subcontractors.

    * A solid understanding of tendering, procurement and commercial buying.

    * Strong negotiation and commercial skills.

    * An established understanding of M&E supply chains and subcontractor markets.

    * The confidence to work independently and make commercially driven decisions.

    * A proactive and entrepreneurial approach.

    * The ambition to build and lead a team and develop a new area of the business.

    * The ability to operate effectively within a smaller, close-knit environment where your input can directly influence the direction of the business.

    Why This Role Stands Out

This is not a hire into an existing procurement department.

It’s an opportunity for someone with ambition to come in, take ownership and build something from the ground up.

You will have genuine influence over how the M&E procurement function develops, with a clear opportunity to build a team around you as the business grows.

For the right person, there is also the potential to develop the function into a new standalone arm of the business, creating significant long-term career and commercial opportunities.

    Salary: £60,000 – £80,000 DOE + Benefits

If you’re an ambitious M&E professional looking for a role where you can make a genuine impact and build something of your own, we’d be keen to hear from you.
