How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    About Us

    Shuel Construction Ltd is a social housing maintenance contractor working with housing associations and local councils across London and beyond. We deliver kitchen and bathroom refurbishments, disrepair works, and general building maintenance to a high standard on behalf of some of the country's leading social landlords. We're growing and looking for skilled, reliable multi traders to join our network on a self-employed basis.

    The RoleWe're looking for experienced Multi Traders to carry out maintenance and disrepair works across social housing properties in the Hackney area. You'll be working on occupied and void properties, completing a range of trades to a high standard with minimal supervision.

    This is a self-employed / subcontracting opportunity with consistent, ongoing work available.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Carry out kitchen and bathroom refurbishments, including full installations

    * Plumbing works — repairs, replacements, isolation, and installations

    * Carpentry — doors, frames, skirting, kitchens, and general joinery

    * Tiling — walls and floors to a clean, professional finish

    * Plastering — patching and full skim works

    * Painting and decorating

    * General building and disrepair works as required

    * Complete work to specification, on time, and to the required quality standard

    * Liaise professionally with residents and site supervisors

    Requirements

    * Proven experience as a multi trader across a range of trades

    * Own transport — essential

    * Ability to work independently and manage your own time on site

    * High standard of workmanship with attention to detail

    * Good communication skills — you'll be working in occupied homes

    * CSCS card — preferred

    * Self-employed / able to operate as a subcontractor
