Our client, a respected consultancy in the construction and built environment sector, is seeking a Graduate Structural Engineer to join its team on a permanent basis. Working 35 hours per week, the role offers the opportunity to develop practical experience in structural engineering, structural design and civil engineering while supporting projects from design through to delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with technical calculations, structural modelling and design activities
Support the preparation and issue of technical drawings, specifications and schedules
Assist with risk assessments and RIBA design stage reports
Liaise with the wider Design Team to obtain information required for project delivery
Attend project meetings, in-house project reviews and site surveys alongside senior team members
Assist with the technical review of third-party design information
Support project administration, filing and the maintenance of accurate technical records
Maintain a high standard of quality across all information and design output
Job Requirements:
Degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering, such as a BEng, BEng (Hons) or BSc
Understanding of building construction and the principles of structural design
Awareness of the role and responsibilities of structural and civil engineers within construction projects
Awareness of Design Team members and their respective duties
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Good interpersonal and written communication skills, including the ability to assist with technical reports
Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a collaborative team
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, with awareness of industry modelling software such as TEDDS, Tekla Structural Designer or Revit
