How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs?

    Tradewind Recruitment are currently recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants for a variety of opportunities across secondary schools in St Helens.

    With schools preparing for the new academic year, we are keen to hear from experienced Teaching Assistants, Learning Support Assistants, SEN TAs and Behaviour Mentors, as well as graduates and candidates with transferable experience supporting young people.

    Our partner schools may require support for students with a range of additional needs, including:

    Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
    ADHD
    SEMH
    Speech, Language and Communication Needs
    Moderate Learning Difficulties
    Other SEND needs

    Your role

    As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you'll work alongside teachers and school support teams to help students access learning and develop greater independence.

    Responsibilities may include:

    Providing one-to-one support
    Supporting students within the classroom
    Working with small groups
    Supporting intervention programmes
    Helping students overcome barriers to learning
    Promoting positive behaviour and engagement
    Developing positive relationships with students
    Working alongside teachers, SENCOs and pastoral teams

    We are looking for:

    Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable
    Experience supporting SEND is advantageous
    Patience, resilience and empathy
    Excellent communication skills
    A positive and proactive approach
    A genuine passion for improving outcomes for young peopleWe also welcome applications from Psychology graduates, Education graduates, Sports Coaches, Youth Workers and Children's Support Workers who are looking to develop their careers within education.
