How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Electrician

    Location: Yeovil and surrounding areas
    Salary: Up to £42,921.30 per annum, depending on experience
    Hours: 40 hours per week
    Contract: Full-time, Permanent

    The Role

    We are looking for a skilled Electrician to join a leading housing provider in Yeovil and the surrounding areas.

    This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced electrician to play a key role in ensuring customers move into safe, compliant, and high-quality homes. You will work across empty properties, existing homes, and communal areas, carrying out electrical testing, inspections, repairs, and installations.

    Key Responsibilities

    Carry out electrical testing, inspections, repairs, and installations within empty homes.
    Complete electrical works to ensure properties are safe, compliant, and ready for new customers.
    Undertake electrical inspections and testing across residential properties and communal areas.
    Respond to electrical repairs and faults, ensuring customers' homes remain safe and comfortable.
    Support planned improvement programmes, including kitchen, bathroom, and heating upgrades.
    Carry out communal lighting improvements and electrical enhancement works.
    Complete work to a high standard and in accordance with relevant electrical regulations and safety requirements.
    Provide professional and courteous customer service while working in residents' homes.
    Accurately complete relevant documentation, certification, and electronic records.

    About You

    You will ideally have:

    Current 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
    Proven experience working as an Electrician, including testing, repairs, and installations.
    Experience within domestic or social housing environments would be advantageous.
    Knowledge of NICEIC certification or similar electrical compliance software.
    A full UK driving licence.
    A strong commitment to health and safety and quality workmanship.
    Excellent communication and customer service skills.
    A professional, reliable, and positive attitude.
