How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Spencer Clarke Group are currently recruiting for English Teachers to work in secondary schools across Blackpool and the Fylde Coast on long-term supply assignments.

    We are working with a number of schools who are looking for enthusiastic, committed and passionate English Teachers to join their teams. These opportunities are ideal for teachers looking for consistency, stability and the opportunity to make a real impact within a school.

    As an English Teacher, you will be responsible for:

    Teaching English across Key Stages 3 and 4
    Planning and delivering engaging and challenging lessons.
    Differentiating lessons to meet the needs of all learners.
    Assessing and monitoring student progress.
    Maintaining high expectations of behaviour and achievement.
    Building positive relationships with pupils and colleagues.
    Contributing to the wider life of the school.
    Working effectively as part of the English department.The successful candidate will ideally have:

    QTS or relevant teaching qualification.
    Experience teaching English within a secondary school.
    Strong subject knowledge.
    A passion for English and education.
    Excellent classroom management skills.
    The ability to build positive relationships with students.
    A flexible and professional approach to teaching.Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are welcome to apply, as are experienced teachers looking for their next long-term opportunity.
