How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Futures are supporting a growing controls and automation business in South Yorkshire in their search for a Systems Engineer. This is a varied role where you'll work across multiple engineering disciplines, supporting the design, integration, commissioning, and deployment of advanced systems used in challenging real world applications. The successful systems engineer will have a broad understanding of electrical, electronic, software and mechanical engineering disciplines in order to create system specifications for control systems and automation focused projects.

    Systems Engineer - Role - LabVIEW / Electronics / R&D / Commissioning / Control Systems / Automation

    Develop and deliver automation and control system solutions.
    Work closely with software, electrical, electronic, and mechanical engineers on multidisciplinary projects.
    Develop, maintain, and support LabVIEW applications.
    Assist with system integration, commissioning, and customer support activities.
    Create technical documentation, specifications, and project records.
    Visit customer sites across the UK to support project delivery and commissioning.
    Systems Engineer - Skills & Experience - LabVIEW / Electronics / R&D / Commissioning / Control Systems / Automation

    Experience working within a systems, automation, controls, or integration engineering environment.
    Practical experience using LabVIEW.
    Knowledge of instrumentation, automation, control systems, or data acquisition.
    Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
    Ability to work across multiple engineering disciplines.
    Comfortable communicating with customers and internal project teams.
    Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel when required.
