How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Looking to start your career in a professional, fast-paced business where you can learn, develop and gain valuable hands-on experience?
Howarths is an award-winning family business providing Employment Law, HR and Health & Safety support to over 600 SMEs across England. We’re proud of our people, our culture and the high-quality service we deliver to our clients.

Working alongside experienced professionals, you’ll receive plenty of support while developing your knowledge, confidence and workplace skills. You’ll also complete a Business Administration Level 3 course with our chosen training provider.
No two days will be the same. You’ll support different teams across the business, help ensure the office runs smoothly and contribute to the excellent experience we provide for our clients and visitors.
    What you’ll be doing
As our Business Support Apprentice, you’ll provide valuable administrative support across the business. Your responsibilities will include:
    * Answering and directing incoming telephone calls in a friendly and professional manner

    * Supporting the team with general day-to-day office administration
    * Assisting with diary management and meeting room bookings
    * Accurately updating our client database and internal systems
    * Helping to organise company events and activities
    * Providing administrative support to different departments across the business
    * Completing a Business Administration Level 3 course with our chosen training provider
This is a varied role that will give you the opportunity to learn how different areas of the business operate while developing a broad range of transferable skills.
    What we’re looking for
You don’t need to have extensive workplace experience. We’re looking for someone with the right attitude, a genuine willingness to learn and an interest in developing a career within a professional business environment.
    You’ll ideally be:
    * Positive, enthusiastic and willing to learn
    * A confident communicator
    * Well organised, reliable and able to manage your time effectively
    * Friendly and professional when dealing with clients, visitors and colleagues
    * Able to demonstrate good attention to detail
    * Comfortable working as part of a supportive team
    * Willing to take ownership of your responsibilities and get involved
