How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

North London | 3 days per week | Client‑focused payroll bureau

A collaborative North London firm is seeking a reliable, detail‑driven Payroll Administrator to join their friendly team on a part‑time basis (3 days per week). This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working across a variety of client payrolls and thrives in a supportive, team‑oriented environment.

You'll play a key role in delivering full start‑to‑finish payroll services for a diverse client portfolio, working closely with colleagues to ensure every payroll is accurate, compliant, and delivered on time. Their culture is built on teamwork, shared knowledge, and a genuine commitment to getting things right for their clients.

    Key Responsibilities

Start‑to‑finish payroll processing - Manage weekly, monthly, and fortnightly payrolls across a range of clients.
Data validation - Collate, check, and input payroll information with precision.
Client communication - handle payroll queries professionally and promptly.
Compliance checks - Ensure all statutory obligations (HMRC, pensions, SSP, SMP, etc.) are met.
Team collaboration - Work closely with colleagues to maintain smooth, accurate payroll cycles.
Reporting & documentation - Produce payslips, reports, and payroll summaries for clients.
Pension administration - Manage auto‑enrolment tasks and monthly submissions.

    Experience & Skills

Payroll experience - ideally using the Sage software
Strong understanding of UK payroll legislation and statutory payments.
Confident working with multiple deadlines and varied client needs.
A collaborative, supportive approach - someone who enjoys being part of a close‑knit team.
Excellent accuracy, organisation, and communication skills.

    Why Join Them?

    A warm, supportive team culture.
Varied client exposure and hands‑on payroll responsibility.
Flexible part‑time structure (3 days per week).
Opportunity to grow your payroll expertise within a trusted North London firm.

From time to time, you may be asked to support tasks outside the core responsibilities listed above. These will always fall within the scope and capability of the role.
