How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Health & Safety Advisor

    London
    Site Based | Permanent | £60 000

    You’ll be joining an established project team supporting the delivery of a major construction project in London.

    Working directly alongside an experienced H&S Manager, you’ll have responsibility for the day-to-day Health & Safety activity across site, working closely with project teams, subcontractors and the workforce to maintain high standards and address issues before they become incidents.

    The project involves a complex construction and M&E environment, giving you exposure to a wide range of activities and contractors.

    This would suit an experienced H&S Advisor who enjoys being visible on site, engaging with people and taking a practical approach to Health & Safety. It would also be a strong opportunity for someone looking to develop towards a more senior H&S position while working under an experienced manager.

    What you'll do

    * Provide visible Health & Safety leadership across the project and promote a positive safety culture

    * Carry out regular site inspections and audits, identifying unsafe practices, non-conformances and areas for improvement

    * Review subcontractor RAMS, risk assessments and safe systems of work

    * Monitor contractor compliance and challenge unsafe working practices where necessary

    * Work closely with subcontractor supervisors, site managers and project management teams

    * Support H&S meetings, inductions, toolbox talks and safety briefings

    * Review and monitor permits to work and ensure they are being correctly implemented

    * Carry out hazard identification and risk assessments across construction activities

    * Support accident, incident and near-miss investigations and follow corrective actions through to completion

    * Assist with LOLER, PUWER and other statutory inspection requirements

    * Maintain accurate H&S records, reports, registers and site documentation

    * Support the H&S Manager with project policies, procedures and continuous improvement initiatives

    * Keep up to date with relevant legislation and industry best practice

    * Work closely with Project Managers, Construction Managers, Package Managers and Supervisors to resolve H&S issues

    * Promote strong workforce engagement and encourage issues to be raised and addressed early

    What you'll need

    * Previous experience as a Health & Safety Advisor or similar within UK construction

    * NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate – essential

    * NEBOSH Diploma or currently working towards one – desirable

    * IOSH / IIRSM membership – desirable

    * 3–8 years' H&S experience

    * Experience within construction, M&E, data centres or other technically complex projects

    * Strong experience carrying out site inspections, audits and H&S reviews

    * Good knowledge of RAMS and safe systems of work

    * Confidence dealing with subcontractors, supervisors and construction management

    * Good understanding of UK H&S legislation, including CDM

    * Experience delivering inductions, toolbox talks and safety briefings

    * Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills

    * CSCS card
