How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    We are currently looking for an experienced Site Manager to join a respected housebuilder on a 200-unit timber frame residential development in Widnes.

    This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Site Manager with a solid background in new build housing, timber frame construction and NHBC standards to secure a 2-3 month contract starting in September 2026.

    The Role

    As Site Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities on site, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme and to the required quality standards.

    You will coordinate subcontractors and site teams, monitor progress and ensure the development is constructed to the housebuilder's quality requirements and NHBC standards.

    Essential Requirements

    Proven experience as a Site Manager within new build housing
    Timber frame experience is essential
    Proven experience working to NHBC standards
    Strong understanding of new build residential construction and quality requirements
    Experience working on large-scale residential developments
    Valid SMSTS
    Valid CSCS
    Valid First Aid
    Strong knowledge of health & safety, quality and programme management
    Excellent communication and organisational skills
    Ability to manage subcontractors and site teams effectivelyCandidates must have previous new build housing experience, timber frame experience and a strong understanding of NHBC standards to be considered for this position.
