How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Reporting to the Director of Corporate Services, the Finance Lead role is responsible for ensuring the financial operations runs smoothly whilst overseeing budgets, forecasting, financial accounting and performing business partnering. The role is a hybrid position with 1 day a week attendance in their London office.

    Description

    The Finance Lead will manage the organisation's day-to-day finance function and provide timely, accurate and accessible financial advice to the Director of Corporate Services, senior stakeholders and budget holders.

    Your duties will include:

    Producing monthly management accounts, budget monitoring reports and financial forecasts.
    Supporting medium-term financial planning, business planning and financial modelling activities.
    Producing financial reports, management information and financial analysis for senior management and committees.
    Work proactively with budget holders and senior colleagues to support informed decision making and financial accountability.
    Contributing to financial efficiency through analysis and reporting of financial performance and costs.
    Managing month end reconciliations and financial transactions, including payment, income and banking processes.

    Profile

    The successful Finance Lead will ideally be CCAB Qualified, Finalist studier or qualified by experience with significant exposure to financial reporting, budgeting forecasting and financial management.

    It is essential that you can demonstrate strong business partnering experience with good communication skills.

    A background in the public sector is preferred, but not essential.

    Please note, there is a small element of processing financial transactions which you will be required to perform each month.

    Job Offer

    A salary of £47,278 plus a benefits package which includes the opportunity to join the Civil Service Pension Scheme, 28 days holiday, hybrid working where you will be expected to attend the office around 2-4 times a month only.
