Our client is a construction group expanding its housebuilding division as part of a wider growth strategy. The division delivers predominantly Single‑Family Housing for housing associations, with occasional open‑market elements, and is now entering a phase where stronger construction leadership will directly influence how it grows.
We're hiring a Build Manager to oversee multiple live developments, drive build quality, lead site teams and ensure safe, compliant and efficient delivery from pre‑start through to completion. You'll work closely with Operations, Technical and Commercial, maintaining programme, resolving build issues and ensuring every project meets the standards expected by the business and its customers. This is a key operational role with autonomy, influence and long‑term progression as the division scales.
Key Responsibilities:
Construction delivery across multiple residential and refurbishment schemes
Build quality ensuring exceptional detailing, compliance and finish
Site leadership including coaching, mentoring and performance management
Health and safety oversight, ensuring SMSTS‑level compliance and safe site operations
Programme management maintaining build progress, sequencing and resource planning
Technical coordination working with Technical on buildability, detailing and future timber‑frame interfaces
Stakeholder communication with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal teams
Problem solving resolving build issues quickly and maintaining momentum
Customer focus ensuring developments meet customer expectations and business standards
What We're Looking For:
Experienced construction professional with 7+ years in housebuilding or residential construction
Strong knowledge of construction methods, detailing and sequencing
Timber‑frame experience helpful but not essential
Approachable, confident and able to build strong relationships with site teams and subcontractors
Exceptional eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high‑quality homes
SMSTS (or equivalent)
Strong organisational, communication and reporting skills
Ability to work independently across multiple sites
Full UK driving licence
