How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    ABOUT THE ROLE

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Buyers Admin Assistant to join a growing Product team within a business going through a significant period of transformation and change.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is hungry to build a career in Buying and has a genuine interest in non-fashion / General Merchandise products. Working closely with the Buying and Merchandising teams, you’ll provide key administrative and coordination support across the product lifecycle, from initial brief through to launch.

The role is varied and fast-paced, covering product and pricing data, critical path management, supplier communication, samples, technical assessments, product listings and system management.

You’ll play an important role in keeping the Product team organised, ensuring deadlines are met, risks are highlighted and information remains accurate and up to date.

An ideal opportunity for someone looking to develop their product knowledge, gain strong foundations in Buying and build a long-term career within a dynamic General Merchandise environment.

    ABOUT THE CANDIDATE

We’re looking for someone who is ambitious, proactive and genuinely passionate about product and buying.

You may already have some experience within Buying, Merchandising, Product or Administration, or you could be at the very start of your career and looking for the right opportunity to get into Buying.

    You’ll ideally have:

    * A genuine interest in non-fashion / General Merchandise products – this is essential.

    * A strong desire to develop a career within Buying and Product.

    * Excellent attention to detail and a “right first time” approach.

    * Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

    * Good written and verbal communication skills.

    * Confidence communicating with both internal teams and suppliers.

    * A proactive, enthusiastic and solutions-focused approach.

    * The ability to work at pace in a fast-changing environment.

    * Good Excel and general IT skills.

    * The resilience and determination to keep things moving when faced with challenges.

Most importantly, we’re looking for someone with energy, enthusiasm and ambition – someone who is hungry to learn, keen to get involved and wants to make their mark within a growing Product team.

    ABOUT THE COMPANY

Our client is an established UK business operating within the non-fashion / General Merchandise sector and is currently going through an exciting period of significant transformation and growth.

With ambitious plans for the future, this is a great time to join the business and become part of a growing Product team, with plenty of opportunity to learn, develop and progress your career.
