How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Your Role's Purpose

Are you a practical Health & Safety professional who enjoys being out on site, building relationships, and helping people stay safe at work? The Group is looking for a proactive Health & Safety Advisor to support our nationwide network of automotive and commercial vehicle operations. This is a varied, hands-on role where you'll work closely with managers and technicians across more than 20 UK locations, helping to create safe, productive workplaces while supporting continuous improvement across the business.

As a trusted advisor, you'll provide practical guidance on health and safety matters, conduct site visits and audits, support investigations, and help managers confidently manage risk within their teams. This role would suit someone with at least two years' UK Health & Safety experience in an operational environment such as automotive, engineering, manufacturing, logistics, transport, fleet, or workshop operations. You'll be someone who enjoys engaging with people, influencing positive behaviours, and making a visible impact across the business every day.

    Where You’ll Add Value

    Rewarding

    * Provide practical, hands-on health and safety support that helps our managers and technicians work confidently, safely, and effectively

    * Deliver training, briefings, and coaching that empowers colleagues to take ownership of health and safety in their day-to-day work

    * Promote a positive safety culture where people feel comfortable raising concerns, reporting near misses, and sharing ideas for improvement

    Reliable

    * Support over 20 UK locations through regular site visits, inspections, and audits, helping identify risks and drive continuous improvement

    * Work closely with managers to develop risk assessments, safe systems of work, and practical solutions that keep people safe while supporting operational performance

    * Lead and support incident and near-miss investigations, including root cause analysis, corrective actions, and RIDDOR reporting where required

    * Help maintain compliance with UK health and safety legislation and support the ongoing development of our ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 management systems

    Respectful

    * Build trusted relationships with colleagues at all levels, becoming a visible and approachable source of health and safety support and guidance

    * Provide practical, proportionate advice that balances operational needs with high health and safety standards

    * Champion environmental best practice through the safe management of waste, chemicals, and workshop processes across the business

Skills & Behaviours Required for this Role:

    * NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) is essential

    * Minimum 2 years' experience working as a Health & Safety Practitioner, Advisor, or similar role within the UK

    * Practical experience applying health and safety principles within operational environments, rather than predominantly office-based or theoretical roles

    * Experience within automotive, commercial vehicle, workshop, engineering, manufacturing, logistics, transport, or similar industries

    * Good understanding of UK health and safety legislation and reporting requirements, including RIDDOR

    * Experience completing risk assessments, developing safe systems of work, and supporting incident investigations

    * Confident building relationships and influencing positive health and safety behaviours at all levels of the business

    * A practical, hands-on approach, with the ability to provide sensible solutions that support both safety and operational effectiveness

    * Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly between sites

    * Self-motivated and organised, with the ability to manage priorities across multiple locations

    * Strong communication skills, with the confidence to challenge constructively when required
