How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    We are currently working with a well-established and growing fire safety consultancy who are looking to appoint an experienced Fire Risk Assessor to join their team, covering the North West of England.

    This is an excellent opportunity for an Intermediate-level Fire Risk Assessor looking to develop their career within a professional and supportive consultancy environment. You will be responsible for carrying out fire risk assessments across a varied portfolio of commercial and residential premises, working with clients to identify risks and provide practical, compliant recommendations.

    The Role

    As a Fire Risk Assessor, you will be responsible for:

    Carrying out Type 1–4 Fire Risk Assessments, depending on experience and competency.
    Conducting assessments across a range of commercial and residential properties.
    Identifying fire hazards, evaluating risk and producing clear, detailed assessment reports.
    Providing clients with practical recommendations to improve fire safety and compliance.
    Liaising with clients, building managers, landlords and other relevant stakeholders.
    Managing your own diary and workload across the North West.
    Ensuring assessments are completed in accordance with relevant legislation, guidance and industry best practice.
    Keeping up to date with changes in fire safety legislation, guidance and industry standards.

    About You

    The ideal candidate will be an Intermediate Fire Risk Assessor with solid practical experience and a genuine interest in developing their career within fire safety consultancy.

    You will ideally have:

    Relevant NFRAR / NAFRAR or equivalent fire risk assessment qualification/registration.
    Experience carrying out fire risk assessments within commercial and/or residential premises.
    A good understanding of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and relevant fire safety guidance.
    The ability to produce high-quality, technically accurate reports.
    Strong communication and client-facing skills.
    Good organisational skills and the ability to manage a field-based workload independently.
    A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel throughout the North West.
    Intermediate-level candidates are particularly encouraged to apply, although applications from experienced Fire Risk Assessors with relevant qualifications and competency will also be considered.
