How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Our client, an established provider of integrated design and build services within the water sector, is seeking a Project Manager - Civils to join its permanent Delivery team. The role will lead the safe, efficient and commercially successful delivery of major civil engineering and water infrastructure projects from contract award through to client handover.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Lead the delivery of civil engineering, water and infrastructure projects to achieve safety, quality, programme and commercial objectives
    Administer NEC contracts and manage change control, risk and opportunity processes
    Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, supply chain partners and project stakeholders
    Lead project planning, resource management and delivery performance
    Drive a positive safety culture and ensure compliance with company policies and legislative requirements
    Develop and mentor project teams, promoting high performance and continuous improvement
    Ensure robust governance, reporting and project controls throughout the project lifecycle
    Support the successful handover of completed projects and the development of long-term client relationships

    Job Requirements:

    Significant project management experience within civil engineering, utilities, water or infrastructure
    Strong understanding of NEC contracts, commercial management and project controls
    Experience leading multidisciplinary delivery teams and managing project risk
    Excellent stakeholder management, communication and negotiation skills
    SMSTS and IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH Construction qualification
    HNC, HND or equivalent construction or engineering qualification
    NEC accreditation or formal NEC training would be advantageous
