We are currently looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a school in Runcorn, supporting students with social, emotional and mental health needs.

The Role
As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will:
Work alongside teachers to help deliver engaging and excellent education.
Build positive, trusting relationships with students and encourage their confidence and self-esteem.
Support students with challenging behaviour using calm, consistent and positive approaches.
Help students develop their social, emotional and communication skills.
Encourage positive engagement with learning and support students to reach their potential.
Contribute to a safe, nurturing and inclusive school environment.
About You
We are looking for someone who has:
Experience working with children or young people, ideally within an SEMH, SEND or specialist setting.
A good understanding of ADHD and Autism.
Experience supporting young people with challenging behaviour.
A patient, empathetic and consistent approach.
The resilience and confidence to manage challenging situations professionally.
A genuine passion for helping young people succeed.
Experience or knowledge of construction would be highly advantageous, particularly for candidates interested in supporting students with practical or vocational learning.Whether you are an experienced Teaching Assistant, youth worker, behaviour mentor or have a background in a similar support role, we would love to hear from you.
