How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Talentmark are recruiting for a Cheminformatics Researcher to join a company in the pharmaceutical industry on a contract basis for 12 months. This role is hybrid, with a minimum of 2 days per week in the Bracknell office.

    Company:
Our client is one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world. They focus on finding answers for some of the world's most urgent medical needs.

    Salary:
    £39.84 - £49.12 per hour PAYE

    Cheminformatics Researcher Role:
We're looking for a junior cheminformatics scientist to join a Genetic Medicine team. You'll use computer-based chemistry methods and AI/machine learning to help explore and design lipid molecules used in targeted lipid nanoparticles (a type of drug-delivery particle). You'll help build and improve a library of lipid designs, combining data analysis, scientific know-how, and computer modelling.

    Your Responsibilities:

Help figure out the best ways to represent lipid molecules digitally, and build tools to analyse and sort lipid structures from internal and public data.
Design new lipid structures using available chemical building blocks, looking for patterns that affect how well they work.
Help build and improve a virtual library of lipid designs, using data analysis, AI/ML tools, and chemical know-how.
Build and test models that predict how a lipid's structure affects its real-world performance.
Create processes to select and prioritise which lipids should be made, balancing variety with practical limits like lab capacity.
Keep data analysis consistent and high quality, and work closely with other scientists across the team.Your Background:

A PhD in Cheminformatics, Computational Chemistry, or a related field; relevant work or research experience is a plus.
Experience using cheminformatics methods to design chemical libraries and analyse structure-activity relationships.
Solid experience with data analysis and AI/machine learning, plus a good understanding of basic statistics; experience with small molecules or lipids is a bonus.
Strong programming skills, especially in Python, and experience creating data visualisations.
Some understanding of lipid nanoparticle formulation is helpful, but not essential.
Comfortable learning new cheminformatics tools and software as needed.Apply:
