How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

They operate with a strong emphasis on operational satisfaction, quality assurance, safety, and employee development, fostering a culture of technical excellence and collaborative problem-solving across all project delivery teams.

    About the Opportunity:

This role is based directly on-site at the landmark Hinkley Point C nuclear power station project in Somerset.

Reporting to the Quality Manager, the QC Engineer will conduct inspections, quality surveillance, and non-destructive testing (NDT) oversight in strict accordance with the Project Quality Plan (PQP) and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs). You will play a vital role in validating welding procedures, reviewing Lifetime Records (LTRs), auditing sub-contractors, and ensuring all fabrication and mechanical works comply with rigorous nuclear specifications.

Plan Implementation: Ensure the Project Quality Plan (PQP) and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) are written, aligned with project requirements, and rigorously implemented across site activities.

Welding & NDT Surveillance: Review and verify that welding procedures, qualification records, and non-destructive testing meet code and contractual standards.

Equipment Verification: Review test and calibration equipment to guarantee full compliance with project and company standards.

    Documentation, Certification & LTRs

Lifetime Records (LTRs): Conduct final reviews of all fabrication, assembly, and quality documentation prior to formal submission to the main client.

Document Control: Issue required quality documentation to Document Control for formal client review and approval.

Personnel Competency Files: Collate and maintain up-to-date SQEP (Suitably Qualified and Experienced Person) records for project personnel.

    Supply Chain, Audits & Non-Conformance

Auditing & NCRs: Conduct internal and external audits of work packages, suppliers, and sub-contractors. Issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), analyse root causes, and ensure timely closure.

Approved Supplier List: Maintain and evaluate documentation for the Approved Supplier Listing, reviewing quality questionnaires and supporting compliance records.

Stakeholder Interface: Act as a key quality interface, liaising directly with sub-contractors, site managers, and client representatives to ensure quality processes run concurrently with construction progress.

    Candidate Profile:

    Qualifications & Technical Certifications

CSWIP 3.1: Minimum requirement (Welding Inspector certification).

PCN Level 2 Certifications: Qualifications in Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI), Ultrasonic Testing (UT), or Radiographic Interpretation (RI) are highly desirable.

Education & Training: Formal qualifications in Quality Assurance, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.

    Requirements & Experience

Welding Procedures: Advanced working knowledge of modern welding procedures, joint specifications, and NDT techniques within high-integrity industrial environments.

Quality Management Systems: Proven experience conducting quality surveillance, site audits, and managing NCR processes on major industrial or infrastructure projects.

Documentation Rigour: Demonstrated track record of managing Lifetime Records (LTRs), quality packages, and supplier compliance files.

Industry Sector: Background in nuclear, power generation, heavy piping, or high-hazard regulated industries is strongly preferred.

    Key Competencies
