How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Job Title: Trainee Dental Nurse

    Location: High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, HP11

    Salary: £14.30 per hour, negotiable depending on experience

    Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

    Operating Hours:

    Monday to Friday: 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
    Working days and hours will be discussed with the successful candidate and aligned with the practice's operating hours and requirements.

    About the Practice:

    We are an established dental practice providing both NHS and private dental care within a modern, friendly and patient focused clinical environment.

    The practice provides a wide range of general, preventative, restorative, cosmetic and advanced dental treatments. These include dental hygiene, periodontal care, root canal treatment, crowns and bridges, dentures, dental implants, oral surgery, veneers, composite bonding, teeth whitening, Invisalign and orthodontic treatment. Sedation is also available for appropriate dental procedures.

    The clinical team has experience across a variety of areas including restorative dentistry, endodontics, oral surgery, implant dentistry, orthodontics and cosmetic dentistry.

    The practice also uses modern dental technology including CBCT 3D imaging, digital radiography, intraoral 3D scanners and 3D printing.

    With both routine and advanced treatments carried out within the practice, this is an excellent environment for a Trainee Dental Nurse looking to gain varied clinical experience while developing their skills and working towards becoming a qualified Dental Nurse.

    About the Role:

    As a Trainee Dental Nurse, you will work alongside experienced clinicians and support patients throughout their treatment journey while developing your practical dental nursing skills.

    You will gain hands on experience within both NHS and private dentistry, with potential exposure to areas including general dentistry, dental implants, oral surgery, restorative treatments, orthodontics, Invisalign, endodontics, periodontal care and sedation supported procedures.

    Full workplace support and guidance will be provided as you develop your clinical knowledge alongside your Dental Nursing qualification.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Preparing dental surgeries, instruments, materials and equipment for treatments
    Assisting clinicians throughout patient appointments and dental procedures
    Cleaning, decontaminating and sterilising dental instruments
    Following infection prevention, cross contamination and health and safety procedures
    Supporting the turnaround and preparation of surgeries between patients
    Welcoming patients and helping them feel comfortable and reassured
    Supporting accurate and organised patient and clinical information
    Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation throughout clinical areas
    Working closely with dentists, dental nurses and the wider practice team
    Developing knowledge of dental instruments, materials, terminology and clinical proceduresClinical Experience and Development:

    Due to the broad range of treatments provided by the practice, the successful candidate will have an excellent opportunity to develop their knowledge across different areas of dentistry.

    Alongside routine NHS and private dental care, you may have opportunities to observe or support more advanced treatments such as dental implants, oral surgery and surgical extractions, depending on your training, competency and the requirements of the clinical team.

    You will also gain an understanding of different patient pathways and how both NHS and private treatments are delivered within a busy dental practice.

    What We Are Looking For:

    Previous dental experience is not essential. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about beginning or developing a career in dentistry and is willing to learn within a professional clinical environment.

    The ideal candidate will be:

    Enrolled on, or prepared to enrol on, an approved Dental Nursing qualification
    Friendly and confident communicating with patients
    Professional, reliable and well organised
    Keen to learn and develop their clinical skills
    Comfortable working as part of a busy dental team
    Able to use basic computer systems
    Committed to maintaining high standards of patient care and infection control
    Hepatitis B vaccinated or willing to complete the required immunisation programme
    Eligible to work in the UK
