How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    About Us

    At Steatite, we design, manufacture, and supply advanced technology solutions — from industrial embedded computing and custom lithium battery packs to secure communications, antennas, and imaging systems.

    Our innovations operate in some of the world’s most demanding environments. From the ocean floor to the edge of space, Steatite technology ensures critical systems perform reliably, consistently, and safely — 24/7. Whether enabling scientific discovery in extreme conditions, transmitting high-bandwidth data across challenging terrain, processing vast volumes of traffic data, or supporting secure transactions on the move, our solutions are built to perform when it matters most.

    From day one, you will be part of an organisation that prioritises your safety and wellbeing, values your contribution, and is committed to making your career both rewarding and impactful.

    Part Time - 25 hours per week - Monday to Friday, 8.00am - 1.00pm with flexibility around start/finish times

    A practical role with a real purpose.

    We are looking for someone who takes genuine pride in creating a clean, safe and welcoming workplace, but this is more than a cleaning role. Initially, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day cleaning and housekeeping of our Leominster site, maintaining high standards across our offices, production, welfare and communal areas.

    As our supported employment programme develops, your role will grow to include supporting and mentoring colleagues joining our cleaning team through our work with local supported employment partners. You will work alongside them, helping to build their confidence, independence and practical workplace skills so they can succeed and thrive at work.

    What you will be doing

    You will be responsible for maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness throughout the site, including offices, production and communal areas, kitchens, toilets and welfare facilities.

    Alongside your cleaning responsibilities, as the programme develops you will help welcome and support new colleagues, demonstrate tasks and safe working practices, provide day-to-day encouragement and adapt your approach to individual needs.

    It’s a hands-on role where patience, encouragement and leading by example will be every bit as important as maintaining great cleaning standards.

    What we are looking for

    You will need previous commercial cleaning or facilities experience, a good understanding of safe cleaning practices and the ability to organise your own workload and work independently.

    You don’t necessarily need to have worked in a mentoring role before. Experience of coaching, supervising or supporting others particularly people who may need some additional support in the workplace would be an advantage, as would experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment.

    Most importantly, we’ are looking for someone who is:

    * Patient, approachable and encouraging

    * Dependable and trustworthy

    * A good communicator

    * Comfortable working independently and alongside others

    * Passionate about helping people succeed

    * Proud of maintaining exceptionally high standards

    Why this role is different

    This is an opportunity to combine a practical role with the chance to make a genuine difference to someone else’s working life.

    You will help us create a workplace we can all be proud of, while playing an important part in our ambition to provide meaningful employment opportunities and an inclusive environment where people can develop, contribute and succeed.

    You will also receive appropriate training to support you in the role, including Health & Safety, COSHH, Manual Handling, Equality, Diversity & Inclusion and, where appropriate, disability awareness and additional training to support colleagues joining through the programme.

    If you are someone who enjoys practical work, takes pride in doing a job well and gets real satisfaction from helping others develop, we’d love to hear from you.

    Apply today and help us create a great workplace for everyone!

    Benefits For You

    * Competitive Salary + mentoring allowance

    * EV Salary Sacrifice Scheme

    * 26 Days Annual Leave Plus Bank Holidays + More For Length of Service

    * Pensions Plan

    * Company Sick Pay Scheme

    * Life Assurance Scheme

    * Profit Share Scheme

    * All Employee Share Plan

    We are an equal opportunity employer fostering an inclusive recruitment experience for all candidates
