How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Contract: Long-term/Permanent
    Weekly Pay: £500-£520
    Start Date: September 2026
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm (Term Time Only)

    The Opportunity:
Long Term Futures are looking to appoint a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Mentor to join a supportive primary school in the Rugby area from September 2026.

This is a full-time opportunity working with pupils who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, behavioural difficulties, and additional learning needs. Working alongside the SENCO, class teachers, and pastoral team, you will deliver targeted 1:1 and small-group support, helping pupils build positive relationships, develop emotional regulation skills, and access learning successfully.

The school is recognised for its inclusive approach and commitment to placing children's wellbeing at the heart of everything it does. With a well-established SEND team, Thrive practitioners, Forest School provision, and a strong pastoral culture, this is an excellent opportunity to become part of a highly supportive setting where every child is encouraged to achieve their full potential.

    Your Key Responsibilities:
    * Deliver 1:1 and small-group behaviour support for pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs
    * Build positive, trusting relationships to improve confidence, attendance, and engagement with learning
    * Support pupils with emotional regulation using positive behaviour management and de-escalation strategies
    * Implement personalised behaviour plans alongside teachers, the SENCO, and pastoral staff
    * Support pupils both within the classroom and during unstructured parts of the school day
    * Encourage positive social interactions, resilience, and independence
    * Monitor pupil progress and contribute to behaviour reviews and intervention planning
    * Promote a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment

    Requirements:
    * Previous experience supporting children with challenging behaviour within a primary, specialist, or alternative provision setting
    * Experience supporting pupils with SEMH, Autism (ASD), or additional learning needs
    * Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
    * Calm, patient, and resilient approach to supporting vulnerable pupils
    * Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
    * Team Teach or equivalent behaviour management training is desirable
    * Commitment to safeguarding and promoting children's wellbeing

    Why Long Term Futures?
    * A dedicated consultant supporting you throughout the recruitment process
    * Access to free CPD, including SEMH, Behaviour Management, Team Teach awareness, and Safeguarding training
    * Long-term/permanent opportunities within supportive primary schools
    * A personalised approach focused on finding the right school for your skills and career aspirations

    * Have an introductory call with our team
    * Get matched with the right primary school in Rugby
    * Attend a trial day or interview
    * Start your new role in September with continued support from us
