How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Registered Manager Children's Home

    Are you a driven, experienced leader looking to take full ownership of a children's home? We're looking for a Registered Manager to provide inspirational leadership for our residential children's home, delivering high-quality care to children and young people with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties (SEMH).

    About the Role of Registered Manager, Children's SEMH

    As Registered Manager, you'll be responsible for compliance, operational management, staff development, and driving positive outcomes for every child in our care. You'll lead the senior management team, ensure the home meets all quality and regulatory standards, and act as the driving force behind a positive, values-led staff culture.

    This is a senior leadership role with real accountability covering everything from staffing and budgets to Ofsted compliance and safeguarding and a genuine opportunity to shape the future of the home.

    What You'll Be Doing as Registered Manager, Children's SEMH

    Leading and supporting the senior management team to ensure the home operates effectively
    Line managing staff, providing mentorship, supervision and professional development
    Managing recruitment, staffing, and workforce planning, including bank and agency staff
    Overseeing referrals, admissions and care practices to meet individual needs
    Delivering the service within budget and occupancy targets
    Ensuring compliance with all statutory, regulatory and contractual obligations
    Monitoring and auditing care provision against Ofsted and Local Authority standards
    Investigating incidents, complaints and allegations, and representing management on disciplinary panels
    Building strong relationships with Local Authorities, LADO, Ofsted and other professionals
    Fulfilling health, safety and safeguarding responsibilities
    Keeping up to date with legislation and best practice in childcare and SEMHWhat We're Looking For

    Essential:

    Recognised Social Work qualification or Level 4+ professional qualification relevant to working with children
    Level 4+ Management or Leadership qualification (e.g. Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People's Services)
    Enhanced DBS check valid for working with children and young people
    Full UK driving licence
    Minimum 2 years' experience in residential care within the last 5 years
    At least 1 year supervising and managing professional staff
    Experience working with young people with SEMH in a residential setting
    Experience working with a range of professionals (Local Authority Social Workers, Therapists, Commissioning Teams)
    Strong business and operational management skills, including financial and budgetary oversight
    Competent in Microsoft Office and electronic care management systems
    Ability to lead, delegate and motivate staff
    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    Ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service Desirable:

    Additional childcare or leadership qualifications
    Working knowledge of Local Authority commissioning and placement processes
    Experience managing HR processes and staff development
    Experience supporting and implementing business growth
