How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    MMP Consultancy is seeking an experienced Damp, Mould and Condensation Surveyor for a contract opportunity based in South East London. This is an initial 6-month contract paying £315 per day via umbrella, working 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

    Working within a social housing environment, you'll be responsible for investigating reports of damp, mould and condensation, carrying out property inspections, diagnosing building defects, and specifying remedial works. You'll play a key role in ensuring residents' homes are maintained to a safe and habitable standard while supporting the delivery of regulatory and landlord obligations.

    Responsibilities:

    Conduct inspections of residential properties to investigate damp, mould and condensation issues.
    Diagnose building defects and identify the root causes of property-related issues.
    Prepare detailed survey reports, specifications and recommendations for remedial works.
    Manage cases from inspection through to completion, ensuring works are delivered effectively.
    Monitor contractor performance and the quality of completed works.
    Provide technical advice and guidance to residents, contractors and internal stakeholders.
    Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
    Support the management of disrepair and complex property condition cases where required.
    Maintain accurate records, reports and compliance documentation.
    Contribute to improving property conditions and resident satisfaction across the housing stock.
    Requirements:

    Experience working as a Damp and Mould Surveyor, Building Surveyor or Property Surveyor within social housing.
    Strong knowledge of damp, mould, condensation and building pathology.
    Experience carrying out inspections, diagnosing defects and specifying remedial works.
    Understanding of housing maintenance, repairs and asset management principles.
    Experience managing contractors and monitoring works quality.
    Knowledge of relevant housing legislation, health and safety requirements and landlord responsibilities.
    Strong report writing and communication skills.
    Ability to manage a varied caseload and prioritise workload effectively.
    Experience working within a local authority or housing association environment is desirable.
    Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle would be advantageous
