How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Daniel Owen is one of the UK's leading specialist recruitment businesses, supplying temporary and permanent talent across the construction, property services, facilities management and built environment sectors.

We are looking for an experienced Talent Acquisition Leader to head the attraction, engagement and recruitment of high-calibre professionals across our business. This is not a traditional internal recruitment role. We are seeking a proactive recruiter who thrives on identifying, headhunting and securing exceptional talent, particularly experienced recruiters and emerging leaders who can drive the next phase of our growth.

The role builds upon the responsibilities of our current in-house recruitment function, including candidate attraction, talent pooling, employer branding and workforce planning.

    The Opportunity

You will be responsible for developing and executing a talent acquisition strategy that ensures Daniel Owen attracts the very best people in the recruitment industry and related sectors.

Success in this role will come from your ability to build networks, engage passive candidates, create talent pipelines and successfully recruit high-performing individuals who may not be actively seeking a new opportunity.

You will work closely with Directors and senior stakeholders across the business to understand current and future hiring needs, whilst acting as a brand ambassador for Daniel Owen within the recruitment market.

    Key Responsibilities

    Executive Search and Headhunting

Identify, approach and secure high-calibre recruitment professionals.
Conduct targeted headhunting campaigns across competitor businesses and aligned sectors.
Build and maintain talent maps for key leadership and business-critical roles.
Develop relationships with passive candidates and nurture long-term talent pipelines.
Maintain market intelligence on recruitment competitors, emerging talent and industry trends.Networking and Talent Attraction

Build a strong presence across LinkedIn, industry events, networking groups and professional associations.
Create and maintain a network of senior recruitment professionals throughout the UK.
Actively promote Daniel Owen's employer brand and employee value proposition.
Support marketing activities that enhance awareness of Daniel Owen as an employer of choice.Recruitment Delivery

Manage the end-to-end recruitment process including interviews and competency assessments.
Partner with Directors to define role requirements, candidate profiles and attraction strategies.
Coordinate selection processes and support hiring managers through decision-making.
Ensure an exceptional candidate experience throughout the recruitment journey.Strategic Workforce Planning

Work collaboratively with the senior leadership team to understand future growth plans.
Build succession plans and talent pipelines for key positions.
Provide recruitment market insight and benchmarking information to support hiring decisions.
Produce regular reporting on recruitment activity, pipeline health and hiring outcomes.About You

We are interested in speaking with individuals who have:

Previous experience in talent acquisition, executive search or internal recruitment.
Can demonstrate a record of headhunting and fulfilling difficult-to-fill vacancies.
Strong networking abilities with an established professional network.
    Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills.
A commercial mindset with the confidence to influence senior stakeholders.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple recruitment projects.
Knowledge of the recruitment industry would be advantageous but is not essential.

    What We Offer

A key role within a successful and growing business.
Direct exposure to senior leadership and strategic decision-making.
The opportunity to shape Daniel Owen's future.
A cooperative and supportive working environment
