How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    This is an excellent opportunity to join a business with a strong order book and a significant pipeline of projects commencing throughout the final quarter of the year.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Lead the successful delivery of mechanical projects from inception through to commissioning and handover.

    * Manage project programmes, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

    * Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, site teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and key stakeholders.

    * Coordinate closely with commercial, design, procurement, and construction teams.

    * Oversee procurement schedules, technical submittals, RFIs, and project documentation.

    * Monitor project performance, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies where required.

    * Ensure compliance with all health & safety legislation, company procedures, and industry standards.

    * Chair progress meetings and provide regular updates to senior management and clients.

    * Drive quality standards across all phases of project delivery.

    Requirements

    * Minimum 5 years' experience in a Mechanical Project Manager position.

    * Proven track record delivering mechanical packages on commercial fit-out and/or data centre projects.

    * Relevant mechanical engineering qualifications.

    * Strong understanding of mechanical building services installations, including pipework systems.

    * Excellent commercial awareness and experience working alongside Quantity Surveying and Commercial teams.

    * Ability to manage project programmes, procurement activities, RFIs, technical submissions, progress reporting, and project risk.

    * SMSTS or SSSTS certification.

    * Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

    * Ability to successfully manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.

    What's on Offer

    * Opportunity to deliver high-profile projects valued between £5m and £25m.

    * Long-term pipeline of secured work with leading Tier 1 contractors.

    * Flexible options for both permanent and contract professionals.

    * Competitive salary or day rate, depending on experience.
