How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Site Manager – Industrial New Build

    Location: Reading / Berkshire
    Salary: Up to £50,000 + Package
    Employment Type: Permanent
    Sector: Industrial / Logistics / New Build

    We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established construction contractor for a permanent Site Manager position covering projects in and around Reading.

    The successful candidate will join a growing business delivering a range of industrial and logistics developments, with project values typically ranging from £5M to £25M. This is an excellent opportunity for a Site Manager looking to secure a long-term position with a contractor undertaking technically challenging new-build projects.

    The Role

    As Site Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day delivery of industrial new-build projects, ensuring works are completed safely, to programme and to the required quality standards.

    You will be responsible for coordinating subcontractors and site teams, maintaining high standards of health and safety, managing site logistics and working closely with the Project Manager and wider delivery team.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Managing day-to-day site operations from commencement through to completion

    * Coordinating subcontractors, labour and site activities

    * Ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with programme

    * Maintaining high standards of quality and workmanship

    * Managing site logistics, sequencing and coordination

    * Conducting regular site inspections and ensuring compliance with RAMS

    * Monitoring progress and reporting to the Project Manager

    * Attending site meetings and coordinating with project stakeholders

    * Managing health and safety requirements and site documentation

    * Supporting the successful handover and completion of the project

    Requirements

    * Proven experience as a Site Manager within construction

    * Strong background in industrial, logistics or commercial new-build projects

    * Experience delivering projects in the £5M–£25M range would be advantageous

    * Valid CSCS, SMSTS and First Aid

    * Strong subcontractor and site management experience

    * Good understanding of health & safety and construction processes

    * Excellent communication and organisational skills

    * Own transport and a full UK driving licence

    * Must be willing to travel to projects when required
