How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    As an HR Advisor in Manchester, you'll provide essential support across the Human Resources department in the not-for-profit sector. From advising managers to handling employee relations, you'll play a key role in keeping things running smoothly.

    This role is within the not-for-profit sector, based in Manchester.

    Description

    Provide professional advice and guidance to managers on employment legislation, HR policies, procedures, and best practice across a broad range of employee relations matters.
    Support organisational change initiatives, including restructures, redeployment programmes, redundancy consultations, and business transfer processes.
    Coach and upskill managers on key people management topics, including performance management, capability, attendance management, and workplace conflict resolution.
    Develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders across the organisation, delivering pragmatic and commercially focused HR solutions.
    Ensure accurate maintenance of employee records, prepare management information and reports, and contribute to continuous improvements within HR service delivery.
    Identify and mitigate potential people-related risks, providing constructive challenge and practical recommendations to support informed decision-making.
    Collaborate effectively with colleagues across the People function, sharing knowledge, supporting team objectives, and promoting best practice.
    Champion compliance with Health and Safety policies and procedures, while undertaking any additional duties appropriate to the level and scope of the role.

    Profile

    A successful HR Advisor should have:

    Experience in providing HR advice and guidance in a professional setting.
    Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
    Excellent communication and organisational skills.
    Proficiency in using HR systems and maintaining accurate records.
    A CIPD qualification or equivalent is preferred.Job Offer
