How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Description:

    4 on / 4 off Days + Nights | Major FMCG Manufacturer | Electrical Bias

    We’re working with a major FMCG manufacturer to recruit experienced Multi-Skilled Engineers for their Leicester site.

    This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly automated manufacturing environment, working on a wide range of modern production equipment while earning a salary of circa £60,000 inclusive of shift premium, plus quarterly bonus.

    The Role

    As a Shift Engineer, you’ll be responsible for keeping production equipment running safely and efficiently, carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance and supporting ongoing improvements across the site.

    You'll be involved in:

    * Electrical and mechanical fault finding

    * Planned & reactive maintenance

    * PLC, HMI and SCADA fault finding

    * Root Cause Analysis and continuous improvement

    * Supporting automated production equipment

    * Coaching production teams on basic maintenance and fault diagnosis

    * Working closely with engineering and production teams to improve reliability

    About You

    We’re looking for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer with a strong electrical bias who has:

    * NVQ Level 3 or equivalent engineering apprenticeship

    * Recognised electrical engineering qualification

    * Strong electrical and mechanical maintenance experience

    * Experience fault finding on automated manufacturing equipment

    * PLC / SCADA experience

    * Experience within FMCG, food, packaging or another high-volume manufacturing environment

    * A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement
