How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    SEN Teaching Assistant – High Needs Autism Provision
    Location: Lambeth, South London
    Contract: Full-time, Long-term
    Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30am–4:00pm
    Start Date: ASAP
    Pay: £108.35 per day

    A welcoming primary school in Lambeth is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join its specialist High Needs Autism Provision.

    This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant, Autism Support Worker, Learning Support Assistant or graduate looking to develop specialist experience within a highly supportive SEN environment.
    About the RoleAs a SEN Teaching Assistant within the school's High Needs Autism Provision, you will support pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and a range of complex additional needs.

    You will work closely with the class teacher and specialist staff to provide personalised support, helping pupils develop their communication, independence, emotional regulation and engagement with learning.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    Providing 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with Autism and complex needs.
    Supporting pupils with communication difficulties, including non-verbal and minimally verbal communication.
    Using communication strategies such as PECS, Makaton and visual supports, where appropriate.
    Supporting pupils with sensory processing needs and emotional regulation.
    Delivering structured learning activities and personalised interventions.
    Helping pupils develop independence, social interaction and daily living skills.
    Supporting positive behaviour using calm, consistent and proactive strategies.
    Creating and maintaining a safe, structured and inclusive learning environment.
    Working closely with teachers, therapists and other specialist professionals.
    Supporting pupils to work towards individual targets and EHCP outcomes.The Ideal Candidate:

    Experienced in supporting children with Autism and complex SEN needs, ideally within a specialist provision.
    Calm, patient and resilient, with a positive and proactive approach.
    Confident supporting pupils who may display challenging behaviour.
    Comfortable working with non-verbal or minimally verbal pupils.
    Knowledgeable or willing to learn about communication strategies and sensory approaches.
    Able to build strong and trusting relationships with pupils.
    A strong team player who can work effectively alongside teachers and specialist staff.
    Passionate about helping children achieve their full potential.Experience with PECS, Makaton, Attention Autism, sensory integration or autism-specific interventions would be highly beneficial, although training and support may be provided.
