How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Title: M&E Quantity Surveyor

    Location: London (Hybrid: Remote Work Available)

    Job Description:

    We are seeking an experienced M&E Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team, specializing in mechanical and electrical services. This role is pivotal in managing financial aspects of various projects located throughout London. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in quantity surveying within the M&E sector, with the ability to deliver high-quality results while working collaboratively with project teams.

    Key Responsibilities:

    * Prepare and manage cost plans, budgets, and forecasts for mechanical and electrical projects.

    * Conduct detailed quantity take-offs and measurements.

    * Evaluate and analyze contractor bids, ensuring competitive pricing and compliance with specifications.

    * Monitor project progress and report on financial status, identifying areas for cost savings and efficiency improvements.

    * Develop procurement strategies, negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationships.

    * Provide advice and support to project teams regarding costs, contractual obligations, and risk management.

    * Collaborate closely with engineers, architects, and stakeholders to ensure project alignment and successful delivery.

    * Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in M&E quantity surveying.

    Qualifications:

    * Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.

    * Relevant professional qualification (e.g., RICS, CIQS) is preferred.

    * Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in quantity surveying within the mechanical and electrical sector.

    * Strong knowledge of construction contracts, cost estimation, and financial management.

    * Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

    * Proficiency in quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office Suite.

    * Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
