How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Head of IT
    South London
    £49,000 - £52,000 + 37 hours per week + 25 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays + Pension

    Excellent opportunity for an experienced IT Manager, Head of IT or Network Manager to join a well-established school in a newly created leadership position where you'll have the opportunity to shape the long-term IT strategy and play a key role in the organisation's digital transformation.

    This organisation is a successful and growing school with a strong reputation and a collaborative culture. Following recent leadership changes, they are investing in the future of their technology function and are looking for someone who can bring strategic direction whilst remaining hands-on when required.

    Reporting directly into the Senior Leadership Team, you will take ownership of the school's IT services, infrastructure and digital roadmap. Working across the organisation, you'll lead technology projects, oversee cyber security and compliance, support the continued adoption of Microsoft 365, and help drive innovation across teaching and operational departments.

    The ideal candidate will have previous experience leading an IT function within an education environment or similar organisation. You'll have a strong infrastructure background, experience developing IT strategy and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

    The Role:
    * Lead the school's IT function, infrastructure and digital strategy
    * Deliver technology projects, manage cyber security, compliance and Microsoft 365 adoption
    * Manage suppliers, budgets and IT services whilst supporting senior leadership with long-term technology planning
    * Full-time onsite role, Monday-Friday

    The Person:
    * Previous experience in an IT leadership role such as IT Manager, Head of IT, Network Manager or similar
    * Strong background across IT infrastructure, Microsoft technologies, networking and cyber security
    * Experience delivering IT strategy, managing projects, suppliers and budgets
    * Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to support users of varying technical ability
    * Commutable to South London and happy to work onsite
