How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Interaction Engineering 

    Forklift Driver / Yard Operative

    We are currently looking for an experienced Forklift Driver / Yard Operative to join our team and take responsibility for the safe and efficient running of our yard and stores operations.

    The successful candidate will be an experienced counterbalance forklift operator, ideally with a background in engineering or a similar industrial environment. You will play an important role in managing stock, loading and unloading deliveries, coordinating vehicle movements and liaising with suppliers.

    Key Responsibilities

    Operating a counterbalance forklift up to 4 tonnes
    Loading and unloading lorries safely and efficiently
    Managing all vehicle movements within the yard area
    Booking goods into and out of stores
    Stock control, labelling and stock-taking
    Ensuring materials and goods are stored correctly and safely
    Liaising with suppliers and delivery drivers
    Maintaining a clean, organised and safe yard and stores area
    Ensuring all activities are carried out in accordance with workplace health and safety procedures
    Using computer systems for basic administration, including email and Microsoft Word
    Undertaking occasional deliveries when required

    About You

    The ideal candidate will have:

    A minimum of 5 years' experience operating a counterbalance forklift
    A valid forklift licence/certification for counterbalance trucks, with experience up to 4 tonnes
    Previous experience in a yard, stores, warehouse or industrial environment
    Ideally, an engineering background or experience working within an engineering environment
    Experience with stock control, labelling and stock taking
    Experience booking goods in and out of stores
    A good understanding of health and safety in the workplace
    Good basic computer skills, including email and Word
    A clean driving licence
    Good communication skills and the ability to deal professionally with suppliers and colleagues
    A reliable, organised and safety-conscious approach to work
